Mac OS X Tips

What is the name of your blog?
Mac OS X Tips

What is your blog about?
Tips and tricks for Mac OS X and many common mac applications such as
iTunes, Mail, Safari and the Terminal. Contains tutorials for new users,
quick tips, time saving tricks and hidden features. Many simple hints for
new users, but even the lifetime mac user will find something new.

Where are you located?
I am from a small village, just outside Cambridge, UK. That's about 50
miles from London.

How long have you been blogging?
About 10 months now.

What is your URL?
http://www.macosxtips.co.uk

How do you chose the your topic?
I have been a mac user all my life, and it is a topic I know a great deal
about.

Where do you find inspiration for your blog?
Many people email in with questions that give me ideas for articles. I
also browse the Internet and read magazines to see what topics people are
most interested in.

How did you start to blog?
I was given some blogging software (Rapidweaver from Realmacsoftware) and
decided I might as well make some use from it.

How many blogs do you manage?
This is the only blog I manage, but have a number of other sites that
contain articles on my other interests, as well as a site with some
widgets I created for Mac OS X

Do you have a schedule for your posting?
No, my life is too unpredictable! I really should create a schedule
though, currently my posts are very irregular.

What is your target audience?
There are two main groups of people who read my blog. One group is people
who need help, and are new to macs or computers in general. The other
group is people who know a lot about macs, and want to learn about hidden
features and extra time saving tips.

What is your most famous post?
I discovered a hidden file in the Mac OS X system files, and wrote an
article about it (
http://www.macosxtips.co.uk/index_files/hidden-file.html ). This was very
popular on digg and other social bookmarking sites.

How long does it take for you write a post?
A quick tip will take less than 15 minutes, but a full article can take
over an hour.

What Software do you use to blog?
Rapidweaver, from Realmacsoftware.

What blogs do you subscribe to?
I like to read www.problogger.net and www.johnchow.com for blogging tips. For mac
news I like www.tuaw.com.
Thank you Mac OS X Tips for taking the time to answers the Questions. Also your site has been a great help in figuring out my wife's Mac Book Pro
